Nissan launches new version of SUV Terrano for Rs 13.6 lakh

Latest News – Japanese auto major Nissan on Monday launched an all new version of its SUV Terrano priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The company will also launch hybrid version of its top-end SUV XTrail by the end of this year as it looks to enhance portfolio in the fast growing SUV segment in India.

Besides, the company is targeting sports hatchback and executive sedans segment as part of its plans to launch eight new vehicles in India by 2021.

Wipro bags five-year contract from Bangladesh’s Grameenphone

Latest News – Wipro, the country’s third largest information technology (IT) firm, said it has bagged a five-year IT infrastructure and applications managed services contract from Bangladesh’s telecom major Grameenphone.

Wipro would manage the complete IT landscape of Telenor Group-owned Grameenphone leveraging its artificial intelligence (AI) platform Wipro HOLMES. And, as part of the contract, the company would own end-to-end application development and management, infrastructure support and maintenance and back office processes for the telecom firm.

Trai recommends changes in MNP rules to curb portability request rejection

Latest News – To curb rejection of mobile number portability requests, telecom regulator Trai on Wednesday proposed to enhance roll of MNP clearing house which will have all the details of subscribers required for completion of the process.

A unique porting code (UPC) is issued to mobile subscriber when he places request for MNP to transfer his connection on some other network but the recipient operator (RO), on whose network the subscriber wants to move, does not get to know bill outstanding, validity of UPC etc that are crucial for completing the process.

Infosys gains 3% as board to consider share buyback proposal on August 19

Latest News – Infosys was up 3% at Rs 1,010 on BSE in early morning trade after the company said its board will meet on Saturday, August 19, to consider share buyback proposal.

Air India launches direct flight to Sweden, connecting Delhi and Stockholm

Latest News – India’s national air carrier Air India launched its first non-stop flight, the Dreamliner B-787, to Stockholm, Sweden, from Delhi on Wednesday. With an all-female crew on board, the cockpit was under the control of Capt.Nivedita Bhasin.

The Dreamliner will fly thrice a week, every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and leave Delhi at 14.50 hours and reach Stockholm at 18.40. The return flight will leave Stockholm at 20:40 hours and reach Delhi at 07:20 hours next day.
